The Department has an intake of 7 PG students every year. The Postgraduate programme educates and trains Dentists to become Specialists in the field of Orthodontics with solid and broad background, rich in clinical experience and capable of using different treatment modalities. Every student attends a programme that is devoted towards Basic and Applied Dental Sciences and Research Methodology apart from the routine curriculum. The didactic component of Orthodontic training is provided through discussions, seminars, symposiums, joint clinics sessions, research, thesis, lectures, reviews, thesis publication and case conference during the 3 year of Postgraduate study duration. |

VARIOUS TREATMENT MODALITIES OFFERED : |
|
The department has been training P.Gs in Beggs, Preadjusted (Straight wire) and Tip Edge Techniques. Dentofacial orthopaedics and treatment by myofunctional and fixed functional appliances are routinely carried out.

VARIOUS SPECIAL TREATMENT FACILITIES AVAILABLE IN DEPT OF ORTHODONTICS : |
|
- Treatment of patients with deformities cleft lip and palate: expansion and Alignment, nasoalveolar moulding, presurgical and post surgical orthodontics, Etc.
- Treatment of facial disproportions requiring plastic surgery to correct the teeth and jaws.
- Prescription of disorders of the joint and muscles in facial region.
- To correct and manage TMDs.
