Introduction
:
Department of Prosthodontics is responsible for teaching
the subject of Prosthodontics to the undergraduate and
post graduate students. The clinical section meets the
demand for various types of Dental and maxillofacial
Prosthesis required by the patients. Prosthodontics as
such is a branch of Dentistry, which deals with the art,
and science of replacing the lost or missing teeth and
their surrounding structures by means of artificial
substitutes so as to restore the form and function of
affected structures.
The
subject has a tremendous scope in view of the increased
life span leading to more number of geriatric patients
and also due to growing need for esthetic dental
prosthesis.
